Life

This post is in no way relevant to either fashion or beauty but I feel to put this out there because it is really so important.

I attended a guest lecture by the wonderful Junior Ogunyemi. He is 22 years old and a successful entrepreneur  and motivational speaker.

One of the things Junior spoke about is the people that you choose to surround yourself. For example, if your surrounded by de-motivated individuals that have no direction in life then your pretty much gonna end up on the same path.  He hit the nail on the head.

So ask yourself. What do you want to achieve? Who is getting in your way?

Get the look for less

Cheryl Cole was pictured at Zuma resturant in London last night wearing this mustard leather dress paired with a dark lip, big hair and nude pointy heels and I think it works soo well.

The dress is from Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen's label The Row and is priced at a hefty £1,800 and unfortunately my student loan won't stretch to such an extravagant purchase.
However thanks to the Daily Mail it seems we can all get the look for less. They've found a dress from leather brand Kaliko that is currently retailing at a reasonable £150.

Rihanna

I've always loved Rihanna but recently I'm really rating her at the moment. Perhaps it's because of her new album Unapologetic, I think I listen to Loveee Song about 50 times a day currently. I think it's really cool her doing the 777 tour. She's fear less. I feel like many artists wouldn't do something like the 777 tour but from I've seen in the press she definitely pulled it off. I actually won tickets to see her perform in London on Monday night but with Uni deadlines approaching it just wasn't meant to be...

And this girl could actually look good in a black bin liner. Not only does she carry off bizarre outfits amazingly but I think she can also rock any sort of hairstyle (helps having such a gorgeous face). No one else can switch between grungy to girlie like she.

She's always willing to try something new before and she isn't afraid to go for it, definitely something that I think a lot of girls admire.

Here's a few of my style favourite's

Fellow bloggers, hello

Hey everyone, haven't been blogging much lately and not being established I know this isn't great but had some personal issues to deal with, which are currently ongoing but anyway..something positive is that I have a fabulous new mascara!

If I had to choose one make up product it'd have to be mascara,  I couldn't live without it.

For the last couple of months I've been relying heavily on L'Oreal's Extra Volume, it hasn't got that watery texture and has a big brush making it really easy to apply. I've also been using Benefit's Bad Gal lash which is also a good product the brush is amazing! Both have the classic brush that I always go for. I've brought a mascara that has the plastic brush and I had to take it back, just not for me. As you can tell I really think the answer to great lashes is in a great brush!

My L'oreal mascara was running out and I fancied trying something new, there's always so many new mascaras and I thought I'd go for Soap and Glory.

My room is full of Soap and Glory products. I love their lipglosses and all their bath and shower products they smell so amazing, but I'd never even been aware that they sell make up so I thought why not...

I went for the Thick and Fast Mascara that retails at £10. I really liked the packaging. It came in a little pink and gold box and one of the descriptions on the side said 'Because it's ok if sometimes your friends are flaky, but a good mascara should never be) which I thought was brilliant and so true.

I also really like how big the mascara is. I'm forever losing my make up and later finding it under my bed or never find it again but this is big enough that I haven't lost it, yet. I feel like with this mascara it takes quite a while to build up. Everyone is different but I like long thick lashes even for everyday so this does take quite a while but when it's built up my lashes are so long and even sometimes look fake. Overall I love this product although it does take a while to get a full and luscious set of lashes it's worth it!

Have you tried this mascara? What did you think?

Jessica Alba Honey film hair

So I just watched one of my favorite films Honey, in which Jessica Alba plays a hip hop dancer in New York trying to reach her dream.

If you haven't watched it before, trust me, just watch it, its fab.

So anyway as much as I've watched this film and love Jessica Alba and how beautiful she is. It's only today that I've taken a lot of notice of her hair color and how gorgeous and curly it is.

I've had the same dark brown hair for as long as I can remember and have been wearing clip in hair extensions since I was 16/17, all wearing different brands each time. I've considered glue ins but like the option of being able to have my naturally wavy hair down.  Recently I've considered switching it up though and ditching the extensions and going a little lighter.

The stunning Jessica Alba (if you haven't been around in the last couple of years!)

And so after watching this film for the millonth time today I'm really considering it. I know it's nothing very big but trust me, all I've ever done is dyed it darker so this is pretty maj!

Here's a couple of pictures I've been looking at recently for inspiration...

Stunning Miranda Kerr rocking the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

Again the gorgeous Miranda Kerr, basically just need her hairdresser

What do you think?

Natalia Kills

Now hardly anyone has heard of this chick which I think is frankly, a shame.

British singer songwriter is the girl that you think is American but actually British. Not only is her music cool but she also looks super hot too.

With her black hair and piercing eyes her music is considered to be an edgier version of Lady Gaga.

Fuuuureezing

In Lincoln today it's been practically tropical in comparison to the temperatures of the last couple of weeks. I thought I'd share a few pictures of yes, another, vintage faux fur coat.

I got it in Lincoln last month, think it got me about £40, really great condition, all of the buttons still there, no marks, very impressed. I have absolutely no idea of name of the shop I didn't even know they did much vintage in Lincoln so must go hunting when I allow myself some treats again! (Just spent £50 on a Kardashian Kollection dress, huge strain on the student loan but hey...)

Winter is by far my favorite season. I love that you can wrap up in big soft knits, chunky winter boots and big (fur!) coats.

Here I am before a night out, decided to go casj in my Miss Selfridge leather jacket and cream H&M fur collar.

A girl in the toilets came up to me and gushed over my 'jacket' for a good 10 minutes. She was super drunk and me sober drunk, I didn't have the heart to tell her it was actually two separate items. Bless her, but I took it as a compliment.

Uni Days

I came across this great website a couple of weeks ago that offers students discount to top brands such as Topshop and Urban Outfitters and other online retailers.

I heard about it on someone's blog and immediately went to sign up and it wouldn't let me-so as usual gave up on it... However I tried again today and now works.

Personally I NEED to stop shopping. I've said this my whole life but I actually need to stop. It's a great website so I advise you to check it out and sign up. All you have to it is register and verify the University that you attend, simple!

Liverpool

Let me tell you being a southerner I'm not used to such cold weather. I went up to Liverpool at the weekend for a friend's 21st and decided this was the perfect opportunity for my white faux fur to be worn!

I know the picture quality isn't great but this is the only one I currently have

This is probably something that I wouldn't wear in Lincoln as the style here isn't very daring, to say the least. However as soon as I arrived at Liverpool Lime Street no one was staring at the fact I had a massive white fur coat on. I also went into their Primark briefly(which is amazing by the way) and girls were strolling around with rollers in their hair like it was the most natural thing, I've never seen it in Lincoln and if you did do it you'd definitely get some interesting looks...  Liverpool girls always make an effort and take pride in their glamorous appearance and I love that.

Anyway, I had lots of random people coming up to me asking if they could wear it as they were so freezing and some guy was so cold he even offered to buy it off me. So at £21 it was an absolute steal, and I haven't thought about the Topshop (£98) one I was after since! Definitely a strong recommendation to get down to your nearest vintage store and check out their selection as they always have loads, particularly at this time of year.

Picture off Blackberry, so again, quality isn't so great...

Ha! Little drunk here as you can probably guess. This was an ASOS dress I got ages ago that I wore underneath the coat. It's got cross over straps on the back and obviously short and sleeveless hence the need for such a big thick fur coat! In the time I've had it, it's been a gem and helped me out a lot, when I'm stuck for ideas I just throw it on with some bright colored heels. Nothing like an LBD eh...
