Shopping strike
With the combination of being a University student and having no job then combining that with the fact you have a expensive taste I have decided to give myself a clothing ban. Extreme yes, but I will try and hold onto this for as long as a month.
I am forever buying clothes, whether I need them or not, however much I don't need a plain skirt in my life, however much I can't afford it, I've even been known to pick up items before putting them back down again realizing I already own said item. It's a madness.
My University wardrobe, I can't even go there. It's so small if I put another item on there I'm pretty sure the railing will come down. Everything is so rammed in I pull stuff out not knowing I even have it here with me.
This is also a problem at home. I'm privileged enough to have a massive wardrobe with two sides. When we moved in to our new house my dad actually warned me not to buy anymore clothes or at least throw some out before buying anything new. I do get rid of a lot of clothes from time to time but still seem to end up with the same amount.
I mean, I don't really see the problem in being addicted to fashion, it's a lot healthier than being addicted to crack or something (and probably cheaper)
However, this temp personal shopping ban to myself is because I have TOO many. I have a rack of clothes with tags still in at home. Have I made my point now?
I have found that this little challenge to myself is do-able providing I pay less attention to links on Twitter, PinInterest, Polyvore, e-mails, etc etc, actually just using my laptop has totally helped oh and walking through shopping centres with my eyes closed, pretty much already the case as my eyesight is so poor.

Benefit Total Moisture Facial Cream
My blog has been looking very lonely for some time now I definitely need to make time for regular posting.
Anyway, I am loving Benefit's moisturiser. As I'm sure we are all aware moisturiser is probably the most important component to your skincare routine so it's good to have a good quality one that suits you. At Christmas I got a little mini's set of Benefit skin care, it came in a little clear seal able bag to carry them in, which I also love... Along with the facial cream I got a facial wash, facial polish, toning lotion, facial emulsion and an eye cream. All the products smell lovely and have a really thick consistency, perfect for skin like mine. Although they're mini's they have lasted me ages. When I got the set at Christmas, I'm not going to lie, I didn't really know how to use the facial emulsion and the facial polish, this is where the little information leaflet came in really handy.
Out of all the little mini's i definitely use the facial cream most, like everyday. I have quite dry skin so this is the perfect product for me, I find that when I put it on before applying my primer it gives me a glow. Also, not only does it smell amazing but it glides on really smoothly, I honestly am hooked! Since I do use it everyday it's running out sadly but hopefully by the time it runs out I'll be able to find something similar as it does retail at £29.50, being a student is soo fun sometimes!

Rihanna for River Island
Exciting stuff. Rihanna's collection for River Island is being released next week. I think it makes sense that Rihanna has teamed up with River Island as I think it fits in with her style and I really like what River is doing at the moment. I love Rihanna, her music, her style and I've seen her in numerous interviews over the years and seems very cool. I had the opportunity to see her at her 777 tour in London which I had to miss unfortunately because of Uni, still not over that to be honest...She always looks amazing pretty much all the time in my opinion. She can look elegant, for example at the Grammy's she looked breath taking in the Alaia gown and then rock up the next day in a tracksuit and trainers and still look beautiful.
Anyway, her collection was showcased at the end of London Fashion Week as I'm sure many of you know.
I really liked what I saw, it's edgy and accessible, there wasn't much print but then I think Rihanna herself wears a lot of plain clothes and adds cool accessories. I thought that it could be easily worn and would fit in the category of either Winter/ Spring. I could imagine Rihanna wearing each piece which I like, from video's I've seen of the design process she's had a lot of creative input into the whole collection.

Rihanna looking firing as per. |
Here are a few of my faves
I could totally imagine Rihanna wearing this. Either dressed up with heels or trainers. Love this it's chic and looks super comfy.
I want this soooo bad! I'm loving white and cream at the moment big time. It also comes in black. I love the zip. I love the fact it's got a thigh high split. I'd wear this with a plain black vest top and super high heels, that'd be amazing.
This is awesome. I really love varsity jackets right now. This would be cool with skinny jeans or jeggings with trainers and with denim shorts when it gets warmer.
The perfect item for those times when you have no idea what to wear and have like 45 minutes to get ready (this regularly happens to me) just throw on wedges or heels and load up on the gold jewelry and a bag with bold print.
I don't know what to say about these. I think they just speak for themselves. I love the wedge front and the laces at the front makes it a boot/heel. Genius.
